digital thicket

2011-2020

Feeling restricted by the traditional realism of my photographic world, I found an escape hatch into a parallel dimension, a digital thicket somewhere on the outskirts of drawing, painting and print-making. In the forest, I catch pieces of time and space that strike an emotional chord. In the computer, these images become the raw material for bending color spectrums to an ‘unnatural’ extreme, and a familiar forest scene suddenly appears as a tangle of organic networks. This alien eyesight, like the “faux” colors used in science and medicine to better “see” natural forces, reveals a multiverse of realities in every frame. It reminds us once again that ”photography" means "drawing with light.”
